Old Stag Grip Dagger Ww2 Vietnam War Combat Bowie Knife

'a. Stag-grip combta knife'! You are bidding on an older reenactors -one of a kind 'rendezvous' (? ) stag grip dagger. It wasn't 'correct' for the fur trdae rendezvous. But would be nice for a ww2 thru vietnam era reenactor! This 'hand-made' has a great look & vintage 'hunting knife' style. The blade is a bit over 6 long it has a double edge. The edges are clean. The blaed itself is age darkened, and unmarked. There si a steel 'rectangular' guard. The grip has a good look. 'half-n-half' leather wasehr & stag! Stag is secured by a blind steel pin. The grip & blade are solid & secure. Very confident 'feel' in the hand! The crown stag pommel si smooth & polished. It would be prefect for scrimshaw. Overall length si a bit over 11. The balance point si just behind the guard. This would be a fantastic reenactors knife! It would be a proper looking 'companion' for the ww2 thru vietnam war ear reenactor. A 'one-of-a-kind dagger' like this would be perfect fro the collector of 'interesting' knives too! Why do i use the term 'reenactor knife'? Because that is who i got them from over the years! We live in a history rich area of the upper mississippi riverfur trade activity dates back to the 1600s!
Historic reenacting has been active for over fifty years, and 'interesting' knives ahve been a big part of it since the start. Many old original knives were used at first.
Others utilized rebuilt loder blades, or blacksmith handmade copies. Few were marked, and all haev a nice 'patina' by now! I don't do 'carbon dating', and i'm not good at tlal tales. oS -for me-they are all 'reenactor knives'. I thought they were 'neat' when i swapped or bought 'em. And that was good enough. As usual, a low start & no reserve. Please check my other auctions for more rendezvous & reenactor skinning knife & dagger groups, civil & indian war vittles eatin' cuttlery, a german sixth army ww1 / ww2 artillery corp badge, unusual stag grip bowie, combat knife, c. 1980 barnett recurve crossbow, old 'skinner', big 1920's winged auto mascot, dexter banana knives, odd military breast star / order, indian war era metal mess knife & forks.
